Peninsula Drive Safe
Committee provides
a forum for members and invited guests to share information about traffic safety
and injury prevention resources, events, and efforts on the Peninsula.
This includes involvement in community events, child safety seat check ups,
children’s festivals, etc.
The Occupant Protection
Committee develops programs to
educate the public about occupant protection issues. Occupant Protection
includes the Get It Together High School Safety Belt Challenge, Old,
Used, Borrowed and Abused Child Safety Seat Round-Up, and Silver
Driver (senior driver) Issues.
The Impaired Driving Prevention
Committee works to develop
programs to educate the public regarding the dangers of driving impaired, such
as alcohol / drug use, under age drinking, aggressive driving, fatigued and
distracted driving. This committee has developed Good Times Guide posters
for use in both the general population and in the military community.
The Membership and Development
Committee serves to recruit,
retain, and educate the membership and volunteers. This includes the
Speaker’s Bureau and Resource Development.
Specialized Transportation Safety
Committee is a committee that focuses on promoting safe
movement practices and traffic safety within the motor carrier community.
This includes Corporate Challenge Commitee, Driver Appreciation Day, Heavy
Haulers Conference, overweight / dimensional permitting information, public
education, and general motor carrier safety.
