Below you will find some of the bills related to transportation that are being
introduced in this years General Assembly.  If you have any questions or

HB 284 - Sets the registration fee for vehicles between 80,001 and 105,000
pounds at $39.40 for one year, and requires the Commonwealth Transportation
Commissioner by regulation to supplement the provisions of $46.2-11 to establish
gross weight and axle-spacing requirements for vehicles up to 105,000 pounds

HB 363 - Will allow Overweight Specialized Mobile Equipment (as defined in
46.2-1149.4) to travel on the Interstate Highway System

HB 581 - Increases the tax on gasoline, diesel fuel, and alternative fuel by
$.085 per gallon, increases the motor carrier road tax by an equivalent of $.085
per gallon of fuel used in the Commonwealth, and increases the alternative use
of fee for certain motor carriers from $100 to $150.  The revenue generated is
used for transportation purposes as required by existing law.

HB 1357 - Include in 46.2-1135, paragraph A, a statement that " Provides that
liquidated damages for overweight violations will be paid to the locality if the
violator was cited of a local ordinance."
