Year-End Review With Bob Clinebell, President

As we approach the end of 2025, I want to extend Happy Holiday Greetings to all DSHR members, donors, sponsors, and friends and wish everyone an enjoyable, safe and peaceful holiday season.

DSHR membership continued to grow in 2025 as we welcomed 14 new members to the organization. I would also like to recognize several members who have taken on additional roles during 2025 which has enhanced DSHR’s ability to perform our mission of educating and promoting traffic safety within the 757 Community.

Brian Hennessy – Impaired Driver Prevention Chair
Pete Anoia – Specialized Transportation Safety Chair
Tina Mann – Vice President
Mary Ann Rayment – Public Relations Coordinator
Crystal Breede – Board of Directors
Walter “Fitz” Wallace – Board of Directors

Highlights of 2025:

  • Development of a DSHR Media Policy.
  • Drive Safe HR By Laws were updated.
  • Acting Sergeant Clifton Sessoms from the Suffolk Police Department gave a very informative presentation at the September General Business Meeting on “Sliding Into the Future” which addressed the issue of “Street Racing” in the 757 Community.
  • Several DSHR members attended the Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Safety Coalition meeting which was held in September. I had the opportunity to give a short presentation on Drive Safe Hampton Roads to the participants.
  • Seven individuals received Hanna Awards for their accomplishments during 2024 at the Hanna Awards Luncheon which was held in April: Deputy Brad E. Hughes, Sergeant Chad A. Beale, Officer Kasey Bogue, Officer Joseph Anderson-Hodgin, Christy King, Trooper Adelaide Fischer, and Kristin Pettway.

Thanks to all who participated in one or more of our programs and events during 2025. Our success depends on the many people who help plan and execute the programs and events that have made Drive Safe Hampton Roads a recognized leader in traffic safety, and we will need your continuing support as well during 2026!  Check out the Calendar of Events to see the numerous opportunities in which you can assist, whether it be 1 hour or more.
